Special Thanksgiving harvest

Do you want to serve your guests locally grown vegetables for Thanksgiving this year? Our fields are still full of yummy veggies, so we’re having a special Thanksgiving harvest. Here are the details:

We’ll be at our fields on Wednesday, November 22 from 10 am to noon. You can drop by to pick up some veggies (which we’ll harvest fresh right there). If you’d like to save yourself time, we can have your vegetables ready to go for pick up. Simply email or call us by the end of Tuesday to place your order: farm(at)oakhillorganics.org or 503-474-7661.

Here’s what we’ll have available so that you can plan or place an order (items marked with * are limited in availability—please place an order if you want to guarantee your purchase ahead of time):

• Seasonal salad mix *limited availability
• Onions: standard yellow, green onions, or cipollini
• Delicata squash
• Pie pumpkins *
• Beets: red, chioggia, and golden
• Cooking greens: kale, collards, swiss chard
• Arugula
• Cabbage: green, savoy, and red
• Carrots
• Brussels sprouts
• Leeks
• Broccoli
• Cauliflower
• Daikon radish
• Kohlrabi *
• Baby fennel
• Ornamental ‘Indian’ corn (for decorating the table!)

Directions to the farm: Take Baker Creek Road WEST out of Mac (from the intersection at 99 with the Lumberman’s). Drive past the developments and churches. Baker Creek will ‘jog’ at a beautiful white house. After the jog, turn RIGHT onto Hill Road after the bridge. Our farm is on your right, at the base of the hill. Look for the circular gravel driveway, a bright blue pole building and our farm stand.
