As you all know by now, in 2007 Oakhill Organics will be moving to our own land (we’re still in the closing period), changing our name (undecided so far), and ‘growing’ our farm business. We hope to add at least 25 more shares to the CSA. In order to meet the labor demands of a larger farm, we are going to be hiring employees for the summer.
So far, the details of the internship/employment opportunity are still a bit up in the air. Much depends on what happens over the next few months and who shows interest in working with us. But here are a few preliminary plans for next year …
The basic facts: We plan to hire 1-2 people (couples welcome) to work five-six days a week from mid-April to late October. We will pay a monthly stipend, which will vary depending on experience and the situation. If you would like to live on site, we will provide housing (a travel trailer), stipend and partial board. If you already live in the McMinnville or Salem area and would like to commute for work, we will offer a slightly larger stipend and free vegetables.
