Our friends Rich and Val Blaha of Mossback Farm still have some beef available for order this summer. Here are the details, as sent to me by Val:
Mossback Farm, owned and operated by Val and Rich Blaha in Yamhill, still has a few quarters of Red Angus beef available for purchase for summer or fall pickup at Frontier Custom Cutting in Carlton. Our steers are raised on grass (during the warm months), and supplemented with hay as needed. We don’t feed grain, or use any antibiotics, hormones, etc. We use intensive rotation practices to insure that our steers have access to premium quality grass while maintaining and improving the health of our pastures.
Our beef is lean, and extremely tasty. We sell it for $3.75/lb, plus butcher charges which are about $75-125 per quarter. Your final cost is about $5.50-$6/lb for a complete variety of cuts (steaks, ribs, ground beef, etc.) cut and wrapped to your specifications.
