Market opens tomorrow!

The 2008 McMinnville Farmers Market begins tomorrow, Thursday, May 29! Market runs from 1:30 – 6:30 and is located downtown on Cowls St, between 2nd and 3rd streets. You’ll find our booths about halfway down Cowls St, in front of the hair salon. We have green tablecloths and wooden bins.

We are super excited about our first week’s offerings. In spite of the cool year, the ground has come through for us, and we’ll have a diverse sampling of spring treats:

  • Salad mix (featuring over eight different lettuces!) — $4 bag (9 oz.)
  • Arugula — $4 bag
  • Spinach — $4 bag
  • Lettuces: red, green, and butter! — $2 head
  • Kales — $2 bunch
  • Mustard greens — $2 bunch
  • Chard: green and rainbow — $2 bunch
  • Beets — $2 bunch
  • Kohlrabi — $2 bunch
  • White salad turnips — $2 bunch
  • Radishes — $2 bunch
  • Green garlic — $2 bunch
  • Shallots — $4 lb.
  • ’I Eat Local Vegetables’ cotton tote bags — $5 each
  • We hope you can make it! We were disappointed to not see an announcement about market’s opening in yesterday’s The News-Register, so we hope people remember. If you can, please pass the word to your friends, neighbors, and co-workers. I think this is going to be the best year yet for the market, so I’d hate for anyone to miss it! See you there!
