Preview of second market offerings

In case you’re making your shopping list for tomorrow’s Farmers’ Market, here’s what we’re planning to have at our booth (including quite a few new items): broccoli raab, radishes, bunched arugula, green onions, head lettuce, beets, spring salad turnips, kale, chard, bok choy, and tomato starts.

We’ll also have bags of our gourmet cut salad mix—featuring lettuces, arugula, spinach, mizuna, tatsoi, and chard—and a new braising mix—with mizuna, tatsoi, chicory greens, mustards, chard, kale, and broccoli raab.

Finally, we’ll also be selling copies of a great seasonal vegetable cookbook: From Asparagus to Zucchini: A Guide to Cooking Farm-Fresh Seasonal Produce. The book is published by the Madison (Wisconsin) Area CSA Coalition and features recipes from their CSA farmers, members, and local chefs. It’s a flexible resource and guide for preparing seasonally-focused meals. It also has information about storing and putting up food. I highly recommend this book, even if you already have an extensive cookbook selection—Casey and I use our copy all the time. (We love it so much that we actually own two editions.) Anyhow, hope to see you at market tomorrow!
