Tomorrow is the first CSA pick-up! (Tuesday 6/13)

Attention CSA members!—Tomorrow (Tuesday 6/13) is the first Oakhill Organics CSA pick-up out here at the farm. You can come out anytime between 3:30 and 6:30 to pick up your veggies. (Since we’ll be harvesting that morning, please don’t come early expecting us to be ready, because we’ll be using every minute up to 3:30. Thanks for that kindness.)

A few quick reminders
As we mentioned in the original confirmation sheet we sent you, the pick-up site will look much like a booth at market—we’ll have the weekly share organized into open bins with signs posted to tell you how much is your share of the harvest. We’ll have some plastic grocery and produce bags available, but we recommend that you bring your own basket, bin or tote bag and reuse plastic produce bags when possible. (Also, if you collect used plastic grocery bags, we are always looking for more to use at market and the pick-up site, so please consider bringing them to us. Thanks!)

Directions to the farm
To get to the pick-up site, head WEST out of McMinnville on Baker Creek Rd. Drive past the new developments. Go PAST the house with the ‘Fresh Produce’ sign—that isn’t us, but we’ve heard they have good corn. At the Y after the new bridge, turn RIGHT onto Hill Rd. The land we lease at Seven Spoke Farm is on your right just before the big hill. Look for the bright blue barn, our shed, and the Seven Spoke sign at the road. The address is 3100 N. Hill Rd.

Finally, we have two first workdays scheduled: Saturday, June 17 from 9 am to 1 pm, and Friday, June 23 from 11 am to 3 pm. We’ll have sign-up sheets at the farm tomorrow, so check your schedule to see if either of those dates works for you. (If not, there will be many more opportunities throughout the summer, so don’t worry.)

I think that’s everything you need to know! We’re looking forward to seeing all you CSA members out here. We’ve enjoyed meeting those of you who have stopped by market. It’s an exciting time of year, and we can’t wait for you to see the abundance in the fields. The first share should be a tasty one. We’d give you a hint about the contents, but it’ll be a fun surprise.

Thank you again for your support. See you tomorrow afternoon! The fields are ready for you! Here’s a preview:
